Why Politics Matters

What’s the point of politics? A question Andrew Marr, former BBC Political editor, addresses from two perspectives 1) As an engaged journalist, and 2) As a disengaged citizen. The film shows how even those most knowledgeable about politics tackle the same basic questions as those with the least experience, especially young people.

Economic Citizenship

Economics seems very complicated to most adults never mind young people and this Media Trust film aims to offer some basic knowledge that can help people understand whats happening around them. Presented by Tom Oliver, a NEET (not in education, employment or training) young person, the film presents an easy to digest beginners guide to Economic Citizenship. Whether it is the recession, why footballers get paid so much or how to cope with debt this film should offer helpful knowledge of the financial world.

Why Citizenship Matters

A short film by Mark Easton, BBC Home Affairs Editor, looks at one day in the life of a young man called Hamza from two different perspectives, showing how small changes can make a big difference. It demonstrates how believing in yourself and what you can do is the first step to improving both your life and the lives of those around you.
